Let me first start out by saying that I do not shoot weddings on the regular, however, when your friend/coworker is in need of a wedding photographer, you step up to the plate and play the part! Plus, Kyle and Clay are like, the best kind of bride and groom to work for, aka totally laid back (and they were open to doing a first look), so I knew it would be an awesome day, minus the stress that would come with doing a wedding for someone that I didn’t know.
The week leading up the wedding Kyle was so worried about the weather…the forecast kept showing rain on their wedding day (à la Alanis Moirissette) and each day I assured her that there was still time for it to change and not to worry. Fast forward to Friday and it was STILL showing rain and I was just as bummed as Kyle—they were having an outdoor wedding and rain was NOT invited! But, by some sort of miracle, there wasn’t a drop of rain in the sky once they were ready to say ‘I do” and as the sun was setting, their ceremony and reception was bathed in the most beautiful light!
Kyle and Clay—your day could not have been any more perfect and I am so honored that you entrusted me to capture this huge, let me stress, HUGE milestone in your lives. I was completely exhausted by the end of the day and I’m not rushing to take on any weddings anytime soon, but it was all SO worth it in the end. I wish you both many, many years of happiness!
